AUB was established in November, 2001 by Stan and Andrew Kilroy as a vehicle to assist similar small to medium sized Australian businesses in their endeavour to further improve their businesses.
The AUB logo can be applied to member company's packaging, a mark depicting the fact that the product is made by an Australian company, passionate about quality and part of something greater than just business.
AUB aims to form a group that together can achieve efficiencies and advantages available to the multinationals by forming a purchasing network, a skills network, sales force and marketing framework along with a host of other services.
Favourite Foods Pty Ltd, owned by Stan Kilroy, is the inaugural member company and proudly sports the AUB logo on all its new packaging. Favourite Foods has provided startup funds to AUB and hopes to benefit also from a close working relationship with many other like-minded companies irrespective of their industry/product sector. Favourite Foods has a wealth of skills and knowledge but has identified room for improvement when compared to it's two multi-national competitors. It hopes to be able to break down some barriers as a member of AUB.
The AUB logo will be marketed as a sign of Australian ownership and pride while not dominating packaging, as AUB sees the future of member companies as owning and supporting their own brands. AUB will be an endorsement of individual companies, quite the opposite to Dick Smith Foods.
We welcome new members and given that AUB is still in it's infancy, it's income stream has not yet been determined. Favourite Foods Pty Ltd is currently funding the start up.
